Prostaglandins synthesis in the ovary upon PGD2 depletion. (A), Levels of PGD2, PGE2 and PGF2α were measured using ELISA in HQL-79 treated or not ovaries (n = 8 for each condition). Results expressed in pg of prostaglandin/ml showed that PGD2 content is significantly decreased (P-value < 0.01) by 65% upon HQL-79 treatment whereas PGE2 and PGF2α contents were not affected; error bars indicate SD of assays done with two dilutions of the eight samples of each group. Expression levels of H-Pgds, Dp2, PPARγ (B) and Cox-1, Cox-2, mPges-2, Ep2, Fp (C) in ovaries of HQL-79 treated (n = 8) or not (n = 8) mice. By real time RT-PCR, no significant difference of Dp2, PPARγ (B) and Cox-1, mPges-2, Ep2, Fp (C) expression level was detectable whereas a large increase of Cox-2 and H-Pgds expression level was measured upon HQL-79 treatment.
