Mechanisms of immunopathology in ovarian cancer and COVID19. Both in ovarian cancer and COVID-19 activated and/or infected macrophages induce an inflammatory response with prolonged and excessive production of proinflammatory cytokines, Interferon, Reactive Oxygen Species, and procoagulant factors that results in immunopathological changes, thus leading to symptoms associated with sickness behavior, including anorexia and specific changes in energy metabolism.
