The influence of serum prolactin levels in both COVID-19 and OC affected subjects. Competitive inhibition of ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas axis due to viral binding can inhibit ACE2 mediated suppression of MAPK. Hence, SARS-CoV-2 binding to ACE2 receptor may increase MAPK activation which can be further potentiated by PRL binding to PRLR thereby substantially increasing the MAPK activity in the cells leading to increase proliferation and inflammation, hence assisting in severe outcomes of ovarian cancer
