FSHR expression on testicular stem cells. Fshr-1 and Fshr-3 transcripts were studied by in situ hybridization on FSH treated mice testicular cells. As evident Fshr-1 transcript is observed in the nuclei of both VSELs (arrow) and SSCs (asterix). Fshr-3 transcript is localized both in the nuclei and cytoplasm. Presence of Fshr-3 in both cytoplasm and nuclei suggested active involvement of Fshr-3 transcript during FSH action on the stem cells [52]
