Oncogenic and tumor suppressor miRNAs in ovarian carcinoma. Based on their function miRNAs can be used for diagnostics and therapeutics. Certain miRNAs such as miR-200 family, let-7 family, miR-21, miR-214 and miR-100 have strong diagnostic/prognostic potential in ovarian cancer. Use of antagonists for oncogenic microRNAs and microRNA replacement therapy for tumor suppressor miRNAs are important tools in miRNA based cancer treatment.
